Visia Hawelynn was a repeat during Violet Sorrengail's second year and a member of the Riders Quadrant.
Biography[]
Visia entered the Riders Quadrant in the same year as Violet. She nearly did not survive her first year, having angered an Orange Daggertail during Threshing. The angered dragon left her behind with a permanent burn scar on her face. She stayed unbonded because of this during her first year and returned for another try the next year.[1] Visia's family was killed in the Sumerton raid her first year in the quadrant.[2]
During her second year, she was a member of Fourth Wing, Flame Section, Second Squad, the same squad as Violet, Rhiannon Matthias, Sawyer Henrick, Ridoc Gamlyn, Imogen Cardulo, Nadine, Aaric Graycastle, Sloane Mairi and more First Years, and Third Years are in.[1] During her second Threshing, she bonded a brown daggertail.[3] She later went together with all members of her squad to Aretia[4] and trained there.
Visia and her squad were assigned to the drift that includes Catriona Cordella, when the gryphons and their fliers hiked the Medaro Pass to get to Aretia. Visia was in a group together with fellow squad member Ridoc, the flier Luella and the latter's gryphon Cibbelair. When they had to jump over a trap on the pass route, Visia made the jump easily. The flier Luella on the other side was not strong enough to make the jump, she jumped against Violet, who then fell against Visia and all together came close to the edge of the cliff. Violet was able to hold on, but Visia and Luella fell over it. They both managed to hold onto Violet's hand. When Cibbelair tried to rescue his flier, Visia was in his way, so he pulled her up first. But he could not reach Luella in time to prevent her fall.[2] This incident involving Visia was one of the reasons for Violet's and Cat's bad relationship, because Cat blamed Violet for Luella's death.[5]
During one training mission Visia was teamed up with Sloane, Violet, and Cat. Andarna and Kiralair accompany them on foot as they searched for runes. They entered a cave where they identified that a rune should be. After they found the rune and Cat countered it, they were confronted by Solas, who had been hiding inside the cave, after his rider, Burton Varrish was killed by Violet. Solas threw Visia against one of the walls of the cave. Visia died instantly, because of the injuries she sustained.[6] Her body is then burned and reduced to charred remains of bones when Solas fills the cave with his fire.[7]
Physical Description[]
A burn scar sprawls from her collar to her hairline, curving along the right side of her face.[1] She has shoulder-length black hair and is approximately six inches taller than Violet.[2]

Lesser Magic[]
Every rider is capable of using Lesser magic once their dragon begins channeling through them after Threshing. With this channeling, riders are able to; open doors without touching them, preternatural speed, manipulating mage lights, and powering ink pens.[8] Lesser magic also allows riders to place runes.
