“ | And so the war of the father becomes that of the son. | ” |
–Lilith Sorrengail, Iron Flame, Chapter 35 |
The Revolution is a movement founded some time after the failed Tyrrish Rebellion by surviving riders from both sides. It is opposing the current politics of the Kingdom of Navarre, namely the closed borders, the secrecy and even denying of the Venin threat and the refusal to help Poromiel and the civilians.
Biography[]
The Revolution, lead by The Assembly out of Aretia, continued where the Tyrrish Rebellion failed in an attempt to protect Navarrian citizens and the rest of the Known World from the threat of Venin. A notable difference between the Revolution and Rebellion is that while the Rebellion tried to publicly declare independence from Navarre, the Revolution is operating covertly within Navarre.
Leadership[]
The Assembly[]
Only five are required to be present to call a vote, four votes carries a motion, since the seven active members are rarely ever all together in one location.
The seven members are:
- Brennan Sorrengail- Tactician, Lieutenant Colonel
- Xaden Riorson- Heir of Tyrrendor, Lieutenant
- Kylynn
- Suri- Commands the army
- Felix Gerault- Colonel
- Ulices Ferris- Commands the army
- Trissa
Riders[]
The following riders have committed treason, a capital offense, against Navarre in assisting The Assembly and mounting a campaign against their nation by protecting and assisting Poromish citizens seeking refuge from Venin. Other charges include; desertion, homicide, burglary, theft, aiding and abetting, weapons trafficking, conspiracy, mayhem, perjury, domestic terrorism, etc.
The families of Navarrian deserters were sent letters from their cadets advising them to leave their homes near the border in case of a Venin attack, or leave out of fear that General Melgren would execute their loved ones as punishment for treason. The Assembly offered additional sanctuary in Aretia to any families willing to make the decision to leave their homes. [1]
101 riders total left Basgiath War College on October 8th 634 AU[2] including those listed above.
40 Riders arrive in Aretia, lead by Tiene and Mira, after her mother gives each outpost an ultimatum of covering up Venin or joining the Revolution. 20 out of those 40 came from Samara's outpost, however the exact number of active riders who chose to join the revolution is unknown. [3]

Important Events, Battles and Skirmishes[]
Limiting Knowledge[]
The assembly had been aware of the existence of Wyvern for a few months prior to the start of Iron Flame but had chosen to withhold the information from the cadets involved in the Revolution in an attempt to protect them.[7] They were aware of at least two breeds; blue and green fire wyvern. However, they did not know that wyvern were created instead of hatched.
Dropping Wyvern Carcass's[]
Xaden Riorson forced Navarrian leadership to cover up the existence of Wyvern after dropping dozens of bodies along the border while he went on to save Violet Sorrengail from being interrogated by Burton Varrish. This was done for personal reasons, though the repercussions included raising awareness of a second rebellion (The Revolution) and the existence of wyvern.
Calling Formation / Largest Recorded Riot[]
After committing treason by joining The Revolution in the wake of Violets torture, Wingleader Dain Aetos decided to call the Riders Quadrant into formation in a joint effort with Violet and Xaden Riorson, to uncover the truth behind Navarre's sinister cover-up. This formation led half the quadrant (101 riders, and over two hundred dragons) in choosing to leave Basgiath War College in favor of siding with the Revolution.
Melgren's Treaty[]
December 8th, 634 AU General Melgren, under the authority of King Tauri stated that Navarre would:
- Respect the independence of the Revolution's riot
- Respect the city (Aretia) that they had taken refuge in
- Exempt them from conscription into the Navarrian army
- Exempt them from a border war with Poromiel that they "had no chance of winning"
In return Navarre asked The Assembly for aid in an upcoming battle in Samara on December 21st 634 AU, that General Melgren had had a vision of. The Assembly declined these terms citing that
- "a kingdom who never comes to the aid of others doesn't deserve aid in their time of need" - Ulices
- "they do not defend kingdoms who sacrifice neighboring civilians" - Brennan
The Assembly cast a near-unanimous vote against assisting Navarre (Xaden Riorson voted in favor). The Assembly then voted unanimously in favor of being honest about their decision with the rest of the Aretian cadets.
The Battle of Basgiath[]
Although The Assembly was against the decision to help Navarre, as it was counterproductive to their own goals, Violet and Xaden led a riot of 50 Aretian cadets to Basgiath preparing to assist Navarre if Violet's theory about the wards falling came to fruition. They later fought against the Venin and Wyvern at Basgiath War College.
Quotes[]
“ | Welcome to your first official Battle Brief as traitors,”...“Get used to the sound of the word,”...“Because that’s what Navarre now considers us. Whether or not that’s how we feel about the choice we made to defend those who cannot defend themselves, that is how we will be seen by the friends and loved ones we left behind." | ” |
