A yearly springtime event within the Riders Quadrant in which the twenty-four squads compete in three events[1]. The winning squad receives bragging rights[2] and a patch[3]. During Violet’s first year, the winning squad was also given a trip to the front lines to shadow an active wing. [2]
The first event is the gauntlet sky race, a timed flying challenge. The second event is a series of sparring challenges. The third event changes every year and typically takes place the morning after the Sparring Challenges. In Violet’s first year, it occurred immediately after Sparring Challenges, when Commandant Panchek announced that each squad had three hours to “find and acquire, by any means necessary, the one thing that would be most advantageous to our enemies regarding the war effort.” Her squad won the challenge and the squad battle by bringing an up-to- date map from General Sorrengail’s office.
