Biography[]
Iron Flame[]
During Conscription Day, Solas sets fire to a first-year cadet who tries to run away, and in the process also kills one of Fourth Wing's first years and at least half of Fourth Wing's Third Squad, despite the majority of them being bonded riders. A furious Tairneanach arrives and puts a stop to Solas.
Physical Description[]
Solas is an orange daggertail who is missing one of his eyes, which was taken out by Tairneanach. He is half the size of Tairneanach.[1] He looks unstable and hungry. His movements are aggressive and calculated. His swift, serpentine head movements are used in battles and threats.
Personality[]
Solas has a particularly cruel and vicious nature. His actions often convey a sense of malevolence. He uses his physical prowess to intimidate and dominate. He uses his ear-shattering roar and aggressive posture to assert dominance and instill fear. Solas's actions are also marked by a certain unpredictability, making him even more dangerous and untrustworthy. He engages in acts of sudden violence and aggression.
Power and Abilities[]
As any other dragon, Solas is able to breathe fire and use his daggertail, talons and fangs to damage his enemies. He is missing an eye thus his view is limited.

Relationships[]
Burton Varrish[]
Varrish and his dragon share a deep bond, characterized by both of their aggressive tendencies, as Solas set fire to the squad of bonded riders after Parapet, killing multiple people, and Varrish revealing his barbaric tendencies during his interrogation processes. Even after Varrish's death, Solas seeks out revenge in an attempt to kill Violet and Andarna.
Tairneanach[]
Solas and Tairneanach are enemies, as Tairneanach took one of his golden eyes. After Varrish angers Tairneanach due to his punishment for Violet when Andarna's doesn't attend flight maneuvers, Tairneanach bites and holds onto Solas' bleeding neck until he makes Varrish plead for forgiveness in front of Violet on his knees. Solas knows that Tairneanach is stronger than him, and thus retreats back whenever Tairneanach threatens to kill him.
