Nadine was a rider in Violet Sorrengail's squad who was killed by an assassination intended for Violet.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Nadine was born in a Northern village on the boarder of Deaconshire and Tyrrendor.[1]

Fourth Wing[]

Nadine joined Violet Sorrengail's squad when the squads were condensed after Threshing.[2] She had a bias against marked ones[3] and she was not subtle about it, but she did agree to allow Imogen Cardulo to lead the squad for the final task of Squad Battle.[1]

She used her signet that allowed her to unweave wards to break into General Sorrengail's office during Squad Battle.

Nadine walked with Violet and Rhiannon Matthias to the Reunification Day celebration, excited because she heard there would be a lot of infantry guys there.[4]

Iron Flame[]

Nadine was one of five surviving members of the Iron Squad at the end of their first year, out of the eleven cadets who had spent time with the squad.[5] She drank with the other members of the squad the evening after graduation, agreeing with Sawyer Henrick that she was most looking forward to no more chore duty as a second year. She was decidedly more friendly toward Imogen that night and it gave Violet hope that the marked lieutenants might not face discrimination at their duty stations.[6]

She asked what it was like to see real action in the battle at Resson, pushing harder than Violet was comfortable with, but Imogen answered her questions.[6]

She slipped and sprained her hand on the steps two nights before Parapet. Nolon Colbersy was not available to mend it, so she had her hand braced and wrapped the next day, but was hoping to have it mended before Parapet.

For Parapet at the beginning of their second year, Nadine was on the tower with Violet, Rhiannon, and Dain Aetos, their wingleader, although she did not have a job and was only there because she was bored. The women discussed how nervous the cadets look and how nervous they had been before crossing themselves the year before.

In the first formation after Parapet, Nadine stood with Ridoc and Violet behind the new first years in their squad. After Solas breathed fire over them, she pointed out that Violet's back was scorched.[7]

At Assessment Day, Nadine acted like she was Violet Sorrengail when a first year overheard the name, and was killed by the assassin trying to find Violet.[8]

Physical Description[]

Nadine dyed her hair purple hair the night of graduation at the end of her first year.[6]

Personality[]

Nadine was dramatic, making exclamations when stress was high.[1][9] She had a bias against marked ones her first year,[3] but after spending the year in a squad with Imogen she was more accepting as she entered her second year.[6]

That was hot.

Nadine about Xaden Riorson confronting Dain Aetos after Athbyne, Iron Flame, Chapter 4

Hear, hear. It is getting a little... familiar around here. I bet by third year it will feel down right incestuous.
