The heightened heat luminaries create is crucial for smelting special alloys to forge the only known weapons capable of killing venin.[1] There are two known luminaries in the Known World. One is located at Basgiath War College, and the second is in the possession of Viscount Tecarus.
Viscount Tecarus' luminary is described as a large ring of vibrant blue crystals nearly the size of Sgaeyl.[2] Viscount Tecarus traded his luminary to the Assembly in exchange for the Revolution's agreement to supply the Poromish gryphon drifts with sufficient weaponry capable of killing venin, and to take 100 Poromish flier cadets back to Aretia following the destruction of the Cliffsbane Flight Academy.[3]
