Biography[]
Kai is a flier cadet within Bragen's drift who relocates to Aretia after the attack on Zoyla. After the death of Luella, he became the only first-year cadet within their drift.[1] His drift is later merged with Rhiannon Matthias's squad. Of all the first-years in the newly formed squad, he is the most advanced with lesser magic and is close to mastering ink pens within Iron Flame.[1]

He has spiky black hair, and bronze cheeks. He has a dimple when he laughs.[1]

Every flier is capable of using Lesser magic once their gryphon begins channeling through them. With this channeling, fliers are able to; open doors without touching them, preternatural speed, manipulating mage lights, and powering ink pens.[2] Lesser magic also allows fliers to place runes.
Of all the first-years in his squad, he is the most advanced with lesser magic and is close to mastering ink pens within Iron Flame.[1]
