Aurelie Donans was a member of the Riders Quadrant during Violet Sorrengail's first year.
Biography[]
Fourth Wing[]
Aurelie is a Riders Quadrant legacy on her father's side.[1] She has trained her whole life to enter the Riders Quadrant.[1] Her father used to set up obstacle courses for her to practice on. She is very excited to practice on the Gauntlet.[2]

She and Ridoc spar on Assessment Day.[1] She asks whether the number of dragons bonding affect the wards and she knows that black dragons are the smartest and most discerning.[3]
During the first training lesson at the Gauntlet, she falls to her death at the fourth stage, the rotating tree trunks, because she gets distracted by a dragon who flies over them. She's then buried at Basgiath with a simple headstone, as her parents declined to retrieve her body.[2] Her effects were burned by Violet, as the latter felt she owed it to Aurelie, as she was the last person Aurelie saw before she plummeted to her death.[1]
Physical Description[]
Aurelie is a brunette,[1] with no-nonsense black eyes, and is built like Mira, according to Violet.[1]
Rhiannon notes that she packs a punch, and is fast on the mat during her sparring match against Ridoc on Assessment Day. Despite this, she and Ridoc are equally matched, and she leaves the match having lost a tooth and gotten a split lip.[1] She's very agile during the first Gauntlet, shortly before her death.[2]

She believes in squad loyalty[1] and doesn't like sitting still according to Violet.[3]

Father Donans[]
Her father was a rider and retired the year prior to the events of Fourth Wing. He used to set up an obstacle course similar to the Gauntlet for Aurelie and her older brother, Chase, in their back yard so that they could practice.[2]
Chase Donans[]
Aurelie's older brother, he told her the Gauntlet was the best part about being in the Riders Quadrant before Threshing. During the events of Fourth Wing, he's stationed with the Southern Wing near the Krovlan border, which doesn't see a lot of action.[2]
