Alloy is a combination of ores designed to give the resulting material special properties.
General Information[]
Alloy, as referred to within the Empyrean Series, is a metal amalgamation that can be imbuded with magic. It holds no innate magic,[1] but has the ability to house magical power once imbued by a wielder.[2] It is the only known thing that can stop (i.e. wardstones) or kill (i.e. runed alloy daggers) Venin. The more material that's used, the stronger the magic is that it casts, as is the case with the wardstone and corresponding wards.[1]
Navarre uses the armories underneath its strategically placed outposts to boost and extend the natural ward-border to prevent weak points. The Revolution uses alloy to provide weapons to their own and the Poromish military in order to defend against Venin attacks.
Required Items to Create Alloy[]
- Forge
- Dragonfire
- Crucible
- Luminary
- An object that intensifies dragonfire enough to smelt alloy[1]
- One, a ring nearly as tall as Sgaeyl made of vibrant blue crystals,[3] exsists in the possession of Viscount Tecarus

Types of Ore[]
Talladium[]
This is a rare metal with slight explosive properties.[5]
Maorsite[]
This is less rare than Talladium but roughly ten times as explosive.[5] It shimmers.[6] It is somehow connected to the Mairi family.

These are the remains of the shells used to birth dragon hatchlings.
